FFD Public server - Friendly fire

Hey all

I've been wondering why FFD public server is empty compared to sG public server. 

My thoughts to this is because of the friendly fire is on. Waaaaay back in the day I dont recal we/I ever played without FF on public. But it seems like people now is just to used to play on sG with no FF so if there is people on FFD server there tent to be a lot of team kills.

Cast your vote to let us know what is your preffered setting on the server and would make you more likely to play on the FFD Server

Reason was that most players joined ffd server and spammed to go to sg server cuz it was less lagg...

Ff is more realistic so should be on

no ff espacilly no nade ff is for lamers, and the reason is like zee said, and now we are forced to play to play on a laggy server with shit settings and stupid mods,
lets change and join ffd again!
and who cant play with ff is in the wrong game, he should play sims or anything, but no shooters...

and next time when anyone tell join this or this server ban him, forever!
u know whats happened with the ctf server, atm is ctf complete dead, cause the most people just know this laggy polish server where cheater never gets a ban, 1 of 10 cheaters get banned or just guys which are no "friends"

Im sorry but this is exactly the attitude I dont approve of. TO community is so small, there should be room for new players as well. Yes they can go and play on sG server, but im trying to make the communty grow, not make it smaller! This is not a personal thing for me, it is what would be the better for all.

Even though I don't play TO anymore, I think I should write my opinion as well.

FF should be off, there are many players that are unexperienced and shoot at everything that moves, also the grenades are thrown randomly, which may cause a teamkill. Since it's a public server, and it is just for having fun and not to play competitively, it should be off.

Also @bullerina, why do you think FF is the main reason why people don't play on FFD Server? I'm just curious to know...

@kimoomik, your statements have no sense at all, al least for me.

As you state yourself, unexperienced people tent to just shoot at everything. Plus i think people have just gotten to used to being on sG server, so when they play on FFD, they dont think about it and just spray.

Im fully aware of that not a great thing, but I also think there should be room for everyone. 

But my main reason to this poll, is because i think it's a shame to see there is only 2 public servers, and one is almost always empty.

@ThePun!Sher*why it makes no sense, when u dont play, u dont know whats going on, i noticed everything and u can ask other players about this, i can remember that we was on polish ctf, me koerney and a few other guys (~2 years ago) there was 2 aimbotters and1 radar guy, none of them gets his ban, admin was there and we told it him 50489459834 times, he didnt care, even i caught an admin from there with cheats

and that sg is laggy, is not a secret

grow up and hold it alive, that is what we doing the last 4-5 years...
to this players, they dont care about ff, ure the player which get owned from ur team, not them self.
players which dont wanna play decent didnt would help us really, they play 1 map and leave, the target is more to get players which want play serious and get old players back, which wanna play a game how it was created, with ff! and i never saw any "normal" shooter without ff

btw ff is more a casino as a strategic shooter, really they should remove that shit money bet mutator, can give unfair advantages and when they lost the bet, they cry and then they leave

to the ctf server: thomas server was the best visited ctf server in the past, even a few months before spielwiese goes down, then come the polish ctf server and they spammed everywhere to join there, and this ctf server lost all his players...
that is why i would ban them for this,the same happening now slowly with ffd...

Playing without ff makes this game completely tacticless and game loses teamplaying, which is the most important thing for me. Throwing nades and jumping on them while your enemy is trying to avoid them is LAME and for BOTS! We had this discussion before and it is pointless to talk about it again, FF is part of every FPS, so it should ve part of TO too. At the end you have an option to choose between servers with and without FF, its a free world.

About people avoiding FFD server, i realy can't understand why they choose to play with constant lagg/packetloss instead of clean and smooth gameplay at FFD...

By writing this you're just saying "f*ck the bad players, who cares about them". That's where you are wrong, a community is made of people, independently from their actual skills in the game. Also not everybody wants to be a competitive player.

I'm not going to argue about FF anymore, I just wanted to express my opinion on the matter, I wouldn't like to be teamkilled or damaged by a new player, you know, it's a bit frustrating, but I wouldn't mind it that much either. I still voted no tho.

This form of advertisement should have been dealt with, supposed it has really happenned. That's not a correct behaviour from their part, but dealing with them now would be useless anyway, unless they keep advertising.

anyway, for me its a ban when anyone do this again, dunno if thomas share my view on this thing, but for sure is it makes him mad, im even mad, not mine servers, but they was/are better (maps, pings, settings)...

Its not my server, nor my clan, so for me i dont have any problem with it being empty. 

Was just trying to see if more would use it without FF on. Although all that have posted they wanna keep it on, is people that are rarely on.

But by all means, let it stay as it is and keep having a server that i not used as it should be......

Ban is a bit to harsh, Mute is enough.

But after they spammed and get Muted  they leave xP

But there are only a few players left.

So if one player starts to play at a server they will go there.

sG is starting to get crowded, so having the players split between two servers would be nice.

I remember years ago the FFD/EVA server had only FF for nades. I really liked that. Although FF is more realistic and thats "how it should be". Getting tked is annoying. No nade FF is lame imo.

The problem I think is not the FF I think it's a slot / server issue. All too often there are 20-25 people playing total. When you only have 18 slots what happens to the other 2-7 guys? I agree it's not nice to have 30 ppl on rapid but if you want to play and the only server available is full it's annoying. I believe this also caused a level of inactivity amongst players. I know I used to just go do something else when I found myself in that situation. What also happend for a while is the sg server was used as a waiting server for a slot to become available on ffd this meant playing on sg was not fun and people just went offline, this is why people would ask others to join sg from ffd to try and get a better balance between servers. This is not a fault of ffd just the mentality of the players crossed with the lack of players, people don't want to wait to play and they like having lots of people to play with. This is the reason I haven't set a hard limit of the sg server and why I continue to troll the community with more slots than they can use.

In answer to the question I think ff should stay on on ffd, it's not the reason for its current level of utilisation and I think on the whole people prefer ff, I just personally get wound up with tards. We don't want a dozen clone servers. Differences are important particularly in a game this old.

@Apomaybe ffd havent enough slots (atm) but this is no reason for anyone that theyspam that all join sg, cant understand this, its really a bitch move, if they want to play there then join, but dont steal the players from a server which is lagfree and have more/better maps and better settings and no money bet mod which really NOONE needs...
and PLEASE HOLY love turn ff on at least for grenades,  like ilu said its really retarted noobsetting

In my oppinion, server with more than 16 slots is bigger problem than solution. Whenever there are more than 16 players, spawn zones (at most of the maps) simply don't have enough space, so players spawn all around map. Also, even worse problem with big number of slots is lagg. 

Once again, there are 2 servers, one with big number of slots and no FF, and other one with less number of slots and FF. based on what you guys wrote here, people who support FF are less than number of people who don't like FF, so its simple solution. PLAY ON SERVER THAT YOU LIKE!

what do u think what i do? i said what a lot players think, its senseless and destroy the gameplaywhen u can run in ur own nades

I just remembered another reason people might go to sG. Nexgen kicks, when you get an error you can't get in until your timed out alter ego is out of the game...

whats ur problem, u cry cause of the ff opinion or cause i told the truth that players spam to joun sg?

btw where is ur part to help? all what u do is crying, i wrote down the mainreasons why the server is/was empty...
