Snake-KoRn 3 Posted April 27, 2014 Hey, I'm almost finished with once another map Last big issue, is an elevator. I need it to have several (3) switches to let the elevator go to the floor. So you have 3 floors, you must be able to trigger it to come to your floor. I've seen it in another map once, but I don't remember the name. Is there any map you guys know where it is ? Th120 18 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) yep there is only one. I created it. It works with the elevatortriggerplus actor. You can even add more than 3 floors. I even tried to copy your elev to my map just for testing, and I get an error when I want to play the map (even opening the map, luckily I got a backup)! Do you think you could help me out with this one plz? You'll see a copy of the Trooper elev that I used just for temporarly use. (also the name is temp) I'll add you to the authors part. Th120 18 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) uh you made a terrible mistake. You opened a map which uses mylevel (for textures). After that you opened your map and saved. The editor (also the game I think) crashes when you do that. The mylevel "collides" with the other. To prevent that close the editor before you load another map. Th120 18 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) You can make a new elevatormover (right click on mover symbol) with more detail. Be sure that you set the tag (lift) and initial state (elevatortriggergradual). Also I experienced the problem that moveambientsound cannot be used (creates soundbugs); use only opening and closing sound. For this mylevel issue you have to open an older build of the map with the editor. Then open the actucal map with another editor window. Paste the elevatortriggerplus into you system-folder. In the older map paste this into the command execute obj load file=elevatortriggerplus.u package=mylevel Then just open the s_swat.u with the actor browser. Look for the elevatortriggerplus actor in the trigger section. If it does not appear repeat the steps. Then delete everything in the old map and just copy/paste everything from the newer one. (strg+x/strg+v). That should fix this. Also I HIGHLY recommend stay within the grid with your brushes!! There are some brushes that do not even stay in the 1 grid. This creates bugs (I see bsp holes). Only use integers when making brushes. Never toggle off drag grid. Never use the brush scaling tool (buggy and creats lots of problems). Snake-KoRn 3 Posted April 27, 2014 I appreciate all your help One last thing with that elevator; I finally figured out how to make my own elevator However, I'm still experiencing problems with the movements (key 1,2,3...) for some reason, the keyframe 0 and 1 works fine, but as soon as I add keyframe 2, everything goes messed up. Snake-KoRn 3 Posted April 27, 2014 1,2,3 was just an example I gave I did use 0,1,2 (like mentioned later) What am I doing wrong? I place the first one at the bottom, I mark it as keyframe 0. I move my elev to 1 floor higher, and I mark it keyframe 1. Once I'm at the top floor and mark it as keyframe 2, the elev jumps to where keyframe 1 should be, and 0 turns to 2. Th120 18 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) when the mover is at keyframe 0, click at keyframe 1. Then move it to keyframe 1. Then click at keyframe 2 (the mover will jump to keyframe 0). I created lots of maps for AoT but I do not want to release them because they are lame (I released 4 maps of them but I do not recommend to download them). Also I created CTF versions of maps for the Spielwieseserver (edits and bugfixes) and I was involved into all of the maps in the SW mappack II and spent more than a year working on them Atm I try to move on to the UDK but I have 0,0% modelling skills, so I am learning working with 3ds max and substance designer. Snake-KoRn 3 Posted April 28, 2014 Very nice, congratz I was asked to map for TO:C when they started, but I didn't have UT2004 back then, and I tried to map later, but it's quite different from the Ued 2 Editor.. Maybe some day I'll move to that, but not much players play the game. I'm looking for another game where I can make maps for online gameplay, but more popular than TO now is.
